London does have a strategy for Syria

After a heated debate on Wednesday the British House of Commons voted in favour of airstrikes against IS positions in Syria. The conservative paper the Daily Telegraph approves: "There is the claim 'we do not have a clear strategy in Syria'. We do have a clear strategy in Syria. We have a specific, and narrowly defined objective. It is the degradation and elimination of Isil. We are not engaged in regime change. We are not engaged in an occupation. We are not engaged in remodelling Syria in our own liberal, progressive image. ... We are, in conjunction with our allies and the rest of the global community, using professional military forces to neutralise a global terror threat, as specifically requested and mandated by the United Nations."
