Poland has nothing to blame itself for

Poland must face the consequences for having tolerated CIA prisons on its territory but morally it is above reproach, writes the liberal daily Gazeta Wyborcza: "We had joined the US in the fight against terror. And we were convinced that we were on the right side. We thought we were defending the values for which generation after generation of Poles have always fought. And we also believed that the terrorists were targeting Poland too. The decision to take this course was made by all the political forces - from right to left. The majority of the population also wanted it. ... Now Poland must bear the political consequences. The CIA's report has shown that it abused our faith in it. We weren't disloyal to the US; it was disloyal to us."
