Peace process, not military strike

Military intervention by the West won't help Syria, the web portal Tvxs warns, arguing in favour of a peace process and elections instead: "Recent experiences in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya demonstrate that wars fought in this region with the goal of bringing down a regime and redefining borders show their effectiveness only after the formal end of military operations. But here the 'West' seems totally weak and unwilling to bear the economic costs. Moreover it's not in a position to truly understand the situation and lines of conflicts in the country in question. ... The situation in Syria can only be normalised through a direct peace process without foreign intervention and through the organisation of democratic elections."
