France's Medieval prejudices

The opponents of same-sex marriages in France are nothing short of backwards in their mentality, the left-liberal Luxembourg daily Le Quotidien writes: "Marriage and adoption have been introduced for homosexuals in the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain without these countries being plunged into moral decadence. It's only in France that the menace of a society torn asunder is held high by prejudices worthy of the Middle Ages. But neither marriage nor adoption by a couple of the same sex threaten social cohesion. The real threat comes from parallel societies, intolerance and the refusal to understand others."
