Prague signing a signal to the Czechs

The new disarmament treaty between Russia and the US is to be signed on April 8 in Prague. This is also a signal for Czech politics, writes the leftist daily Právo: "It puts an end to the fierce dispute which has raged in Czech politics over the construction of a radar station in the Czech Republic [which the US has abandoned]. This should be seen as a sign for Czech foreign policy to become more involved in the debates about disarmament. Our country should not ignore the fact that the vision of a world free of nuclear weapons is not just Obama's idea but is also anchored in the German government's coalition agreement, for example. This should also serve as inspiration for the party that emerges victorious from the Czech elections in May."
