UN resolution won't bring peace yet

Even after the agreement on a Syria resolution the road to peace will be long and winding, the liberal daily Savon Sanomat believes: "The resolution strengthens attempts to reach a ceasefire in a war that has already claimed a quarter of a million lives. And if a ceasefire is reached, President Assad will in all likelihood be part of a transitional government. Yet it is unimaginable that he will participate in it for long: the reconstruction of Syria must start from scratch. Creating peace is a difficult and complicated matter. And a ceasefire would not mean the war is actually over. Even in the best of cases that would still take several years of work."
