Bulgaria must help emigré workers' children

Tens of thousands of Bulgarians are working abroad to feed their families at home. The daily newspaper 24 Chasa worries about the children growing up without their parents and calls on the state to take care of them: "The state must seek out these children and examine the conditions under which they are growing up, and who is helping them at school and in everyday life. After all, we are talking about many thousands of Bulgarian children. If the state doesn't intervene with concrete aid these children will be forced to follow in their parents' footsteps and become migrant workers themselves. Or if they remain in Bulgaria, they will have problems because their education has been neglected as the result of their parents' absence. Young people without an education have a hard time nowadays. Hard physical labour and lacking job security lie in store for them. Do we really want such a future for Bulgaria's young generation?"
