Sycophantic babble about royal visit to China

The intense coverage of the Dutch royal couple's state visit to China provokes outraged criticism from Sheila Sitalsing in her column with the centre-left daily De Volkskrant: "Then came a report with the ridiculous headline: 'King in video message to the Chinese people: Ni hao.' Ni hao doesn't mean: 'Go to hell with your repression, and if you want to be involved in the world then learn to deal with criticism'. No, ni hao means: 'Hi, hello, great'. … Even the self-respecting media feel obliged to produce a 24-hour news stream with all kinds of rubbish. And every time the royal family issues a PR report which, even after you've shaken it, turned it upside down and made vigorous attempts to read between the lines, contains nothing of any substance, all the media still stand to attention."
