Use TTIP to steer the course of globalisation

The European Parliament wants to pass a resolution on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) on Friday. The partnership is also an opportunity for Croatia, writes the conservative daily Večernji List: "The criticism of the free trade agreement is based mainly on a general dissatisfaction with globalisation. But this has long since been a fait accompli. Now the only question is whether we adjust to it or whether globalisation adjusts to us. The Americans are trying to tailor the process of globalisation to their own interests, but the EU is blocking this with its own needs. Perhaps this time for the first time Croatia will have the chance to influence the course of globalisation - within its possibilities - instead of just watching others doing it and then having to bear the consequences."
