Dieudonné also entitled to freedom of opinion

The controversial French comedian Dieudonné was temporarily taken into custody on Wednesday on charges of glorifying terrorism. After the attack on the editorial offices of Charlie Hebdo he had posted the words "I feel like Charlie Coulibaly" on Facebook. Coulibaly is the name of one of the attackers. The principle of freedom of opinion must also hold for Dieudonné, the liberal-conservative daily Corriere della Sera admonishes: "Millions of people marched for freedom of opinion in Paris on Sunday. They drew an ideal demarcation line: on the one side the free societies that tolerate the worst attacks, on the other the totalitarian systems that consider dissenting views a crime. But the freedom of opinion must also apply for Dieudonné. As hard as it is to tolerate his unbearable stupidities: if we want to defend the values of freedom we must resist the temptation of censorship."
