Emerging countries support Putin

The US and the EU cannot hope to stop Putin's course of action with the help of the UN, the daily Tages-Anzeiger writes, pointing out that Moscow has not only the support of Beijing but that for example Brazil and South Africa also "abstained on the question of Crimea in the UN. Both reacted 'worriedly' to the Australian proposal to exclude Putin from the next G20 summit. The West is now feeling the brunt of two pent-up forces. On the one hand, Russian frustration over the collapse of the Soviet empire. On the other hand, the resentment in many parts of the world at the centuries-long colonial rule. ... All countries defend their independence, and none like to be dictated to by the Americans and the Europeans. And that explains the widespread satisfaction that someone is now tweaking Uncle Sam's nose. Viva Putin!"
