Change of power a chance for plagued region

Mohammed Morsi's days as Egypt's president appear to be numbered. A peaceful changeover of power could give the Arab Spring a fresh boost, the liberal daily Dagens Nyheter writes: "Will Morsi's presidency survive this week? Right now he looks like a sad King Lear, increasingly lonely, increasingly powerless and abandoned by more and more former friends. But more important is the question of what his probable loss of power will mean for political Islamism. Egypt is the biggest country in the Arab world, one of the most influential countries in the region. A peaceful power changeover and a government that can manage to avert economic collapse through free-market reforms may sound exotic - but perhaps this would be the best thing that could happen to this plagued region."
