Thaw in relations between Slovenia and Croatia

The Slovenian parliament will ratify Croatia's EU accession treaty today, Tuesday. This will improve the tense relations between Slovenia and Croatia, the left-liberal daily Delo observes: "With the ratification of the EU accession treaty in the Slovenian parliament a strenuous period between the two countries comes to an end. ... The fact that Croatia's head of government Zoran Milanović will be present when the treaty is ratified in Ljubljana also proves that this time a new chapter in the relations has begun. … We can assume that by inviting Milanović Slovenia's head of government Alenka Bratušek wanted to show that the intention now is to work together and help each other. ... At a time when most of the news is bad, the ratification of the Croatian EU accession treaty in the Slovenian parliament is a truly welcome piece of news."
