Wiener Zeitung

Founded in 1703, the Wiener Zeitung is Austria's oldest newspaper. It is still owned by the Federal Republic of Austria today and therefore acts as the government's official organ. Since 2004 it has raised its journalistic profile by providing comprehensive coverage of all areas. It aspires to be a liberal quality newspaper. Although owned by the state there are no signs of political influence on the editors' work.
