Lidové noviny

Lidové noviny (The People's Newspaper) is by far the oldest Czech newspaper still in existence. It was banned under communist rule and printed as an underground publication circulated by dissidents during those times. Since 1989 this conservative paper has been one of the Czech Republic's most influential newspapers. Along with the high-circulation liberal paper Mladá fronta Dnes it is published by the Mafra media group, which in 2013 was sold by the Rheinische Post group to Czech media mogul Andrej Babiš.
