Deutsche Welle

Deutsche Welle (DW) is Germany's international broadcaster. It is a member institution of ARD, the German consortium of public-service broadcasters, but unlike the other public broadcasters it is not funded by radio and TV licence fees but for the most part subsidised by tax money from the federal budget. Deutsche Welle's Romanian service website is updated daily. The Romanian editing team says its aim is to establish the service as a voice for democracy, freedom and the rule of law. Many of the commentaries lean towards conservatism.
