An exhibition troubles German-Polish relations

Polish politicians accuse the "Forced Departures" exhibition in Berlin of revanchism and of giving excess import to the German victims. Peter Zentai, Berlin correspondent for Hungarian Radio, says the accusations are absurd. "No one can seriously claim that this exhibition, which was inaugurated by György Konrad and which clearly illustrates the crimes of Nazi Germany, is actually aimed at raising doubts about the validity of the Oder-Neisse border. Polish politicians are trying to tell us that it's the Germans and not them who are nationalists. ... Polish politicians dislike the way their German counterparts calmly react to each slap in the face from the Poles with more arguments, invitations and school exchange programmes. Despite all the efforts of the Poles, it's impossible to describe the Germans as revanchists, nationalists and neo-fascists. Tough luck."
