Former Polish Foreign Ministers criticise Kaczynski

Polish President Lech Kaczynski has come under attack for his last-minute cancellation of the Germany-France-Poland summit planned for July 3 in Weimar. President Kaczynski cited stomach problems as the reason for his cancellation. In an unprecedented joint declaration, seven former Polish foreign ministers (Social Democrats, Liberals and independents), including Krzysztof Skubiszewski, Wladyslaw Bartoszewski, Bronislaw Geremek and Stefan Meller, who resigned his post in April, protest against Kaczynski's cancellation. "A close cooperation with Germany and France, Poland's key partners within the EU, is of vital importance for our country… Cancelling the meeting for no cogent reason is an act of disrespect towards our partners. It's regrettable that the meeting did not take place."
