Reducing the quota for men in Slovenian politics

Women are still very much under-represented in Slovenian politics. Only 20 percent of candidates in local elections are women. Brane Piano comments on the debate about the introduction of a fixed quota for women. "It's far from certain whether this will be done, because Slovenia's predominantly male political elite opposes such a measure as it would automatically entail a lower 'male quota'. Though they don't need to worry too much about this in the near future, things may be different in one hundred years. Who knows, perhaps by then there'll be a male version of the suffragettes demanding an increased quota for men."
