The charisma of Polish politicians

According to philosopher Leszek Kolakowski, former Polish President and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize Lech Walesa has lost his status as a charismatic leader. However, Kolakowski points out that charisma is not an essential quality for a politician. "We should not be troubled by the observation that there are no charismatic politicians in Polish politics today. We don't need charismatic politicians. We need sensible, honest, philanthropic politicians who aren't filled with hate and who don't go around making threats - and even that is hard to come by nowadays."
