Companies really can help refugees

Many of Europe's governments are unable to cope with the flood of refugees, the business paper Trends notes, and suggests enlisting the help of the big multinational companies: "In these times of ever more mergers and acquisitions, certain multinationals no doubt have sufficient funds to finance the transport, reception, and even the integration of thousands of refugees in Europe. With all their lobbying experience, these companies would no doubt make more of an impact on the governments that have so far turned a deaf ear than any NGO. Unthinkable? Shocking? No more so than the idleness we're now seeing. And furthermore: isn't corporate social responsibility very much in vogue? Well now's the time to put it into practice."
