Putin is Yanukovych's last hope

Only Russia's President Vladimir Putin can influence Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, the liberal business paper Világgazdaság writes: "If Yanukovych were to travel to Moscow, it would be a huge step towards a solution to the crisis. The Russian president could play a key role in these difficult days. It's hard to imagine that Yanukovych is ready to listen to any politician other than Putin, and the European Union knows that very well. At the same time, it was Putin, who pressured Ukraine (or more precisely: the Ukrainian president) to decide in favour of Moscow and against Brussels. Now he could once again make the crisis in the country work to his advantage."
