Bold resignation over London's Gaza policy

Britain's Minister of State at the Foreign Office, Sayeeda Warsi, resigned on Tuesday in protest at Britain's "morally indefensible" Middle East policy. The conservative paper The Daily Telegraph is impressed by the courage of the first Muslim woman to serve in the British cabinet: "Warsi has done a noble thing: she has restored a sense of conscience to the way we do politics. If only more politicians had her guts, rather than clinging on to their jobs for dear life, then perhaps governments would be more inclined to embrace nuance and pursue consensus. … And you don't have to agree with her stance on Israel to feel sympathy with her pain at what's happening in Gaza or to congratulate a professional politician for taking a stand on something they believe in. More of this more of the time, please."
