Cheap food thanks to Russian embargo

After the import ban on Western agricultural products, Moscow wants to negotiate price limits with Russian food producers. But the Internet portal Delfi has no fear that food prices will increase in Latvia: "The Russian embargo will lead to a drop in consumer prices. ... Of course the ban on imports will mean problems for certain producers and farmers, and they will have to think hard about where to sell their products. But the Poles and the Lithuanians face a similar situation. In any event supplies of food in Latvia will rise and prices will fall. And quite considerably. The Russian ban affects almost half of the food products that Latvians eat on a daily basis. Those who benefit most will above all include everyone who hasn't been able to pay much for food until now."
