Support civil society in Ukraine

A new political consciousness has emerged in Ukraine, with activists and normal citizens working together closely and developing new forms of protest. Europe must support this development in Ukrainian civil society, philosopher Constantin Sigov writes in the left-liberal daily Le Monde: "In Kiev and everywhere else, people are unselfishly getting involved and even risking their own property. That only proves once again that they are determined not to flee to the West, but to build Europe in Ukraine instead. It's important to support their initiative with information campaigns, the exchange of experience in developing European structures, and participation in joint cultural, educational and scientific projects. From this perspective it would be important to reorient the 'Eastern Partnership' model and similar initiatives towards strengthening our civil society."
