At last realpolitik between Munich and Prague

The talks between Czech Prime Minister Petr Nečas and the premier of Bavaria Horst Seehofer went much more smoothly than many had expected and concentrated on people's actual needs, German-Czech correspondent Hans-Jörg Schmidt notes in his blog for Aktuálně.cz: "Czech car drivers are often annoyed by controls in Bavaria. The Bavarians, for their part, are worried about whether the plans for expanding the Temelín nuclear power station take sufficient account of their safety. Companies on both sides of the border want to do more business with each other. ... Seehofer and Nečas talked about precisely these subjects and didn't cling to the dark past. ... So the fact that Munich and Prague have differing views on that past need no longer be an obstacle to Bavaria and the Czechs having good relations, as Saxony has had with the Czechs for some time now. Both sides have overcome their reservations. The news from Prague couldn't be better."
