Romania needs political change now

Parliamentary elections will take place in Romania on Sunday. But if they fail to bring about fundamental political change the country faces economic collapse, the daily Sega warns: "The parliamentary elections must put an end to the war among the political leaders in Romania. Otherwise there is the danger that the national currency will plunge, fewer government bonds are sold and investments go down in even further in value. Entrepreneurs and analysts from Bucharest to London are in agreement on this. ... No other EU country has changed its head of government as often as Romania since 1990. This year alone three different governments have been in power and this has slowed down the economic and judicial reforms considerably. Foreign investment has gone down from 9.5 billion in 2008 to 1.1 billion for the first nine months of 2012, and the national currency is heading towards a historical low. ... To get out of this mess the Romanians must introduce a fundamental political transformation."
