Kurds don't want miliary strikes in Kobane

Syrian Kurds have called on the international community to send armour-piercing weaponry to help defend Kobane. This is a strategy aimed at maintaining the Kurds' power in northern Syria, the pro-government daily Star suspects: "The PYD, the Syrian arm of [the Turkish Kurd party] PKK is angry with Turkey because Ankara refuses to help it. ... But it isn't demanding that the Turkish army march in to free the Kurds in Syria from the grip of the IS militia. Because that could mean losing the political power it has gained in [Syrian Kurdistan] Rojava. ... This is why it wants Turkey to send in its tanks and other heavy weapons. Look at this farce: to help push the demands of its Syrian arm, the PKK is getting unknowing kids to shout 'Join in, Turkey!' on our streets."
