Refugees' revolt in Röszke a boon for Orbán

The riots in the border village of Röszke - in which refugees tried to cross the border between Serbia and Hungary by force and Hungarian police used water cannons and tear gas to stop them - play right into the hands of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, writes journalist Márton Kárpáti on the news website Index: "Somehow the whole situation is terribly sad: because of the televised footage of refugees attacking Hungarian border police it is now more difficult to criticise Orbán for not showing compassion or solidarity with these people who are intent on getting to Germany. His answer to this criticism will be as demagogic as it is simple: These people are not peaceful. And Europe is supposed to take them in and integrate them?"
