Cypriots must vote for change

Parliamentary elections take place in the Republic of Cyprus on Sunday. The liberal daily Phileleftheros calls on the Greek Cypriots to demonstrate their maturity: "The citizens must listen to their gut feelings and not allow other criteria to influence their votes. Especially when these criteria are related not just to political issues but also to personal relationships with politicians or personal habits. ... Those who have been unhappy during the last three years about the cooperation between the two governing parties, the Party of the Working People [Akel] and the liberal democratic party [Diko] because of all their controversies should think hard about who to vote for. ... The main question in these elections is whether a majority of voters is willing to bring about major change in the areas of economy, national issues and domestic policy."
